Memorial website in the memory of your loved one

This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Shelby Wilson who was born in Missouri on July 24, 1998 and passed away on August 15, 2008 at the age of 10. We will remember her forever.

Shelby was born in St. Josseph, Mo to Shelly Wilson-Gatewood. Shelby was then later joined by a brother Gunner Gatewood in 2001. She also has two cousins, Baylee and Kaden. She has an uncle Brian Wilson, she called bubby and Aunt Brandy. She also had an Aunt Cassie Wilson that she called Sissy. She has a 2nd cousin Raylen, which is her favortie and she called her Ray-Ray. She had great god-parents that loved her as their own, Jimmy and Zo Kier.  And then of course she has her Nana, Margaret Wilson.

Shelby was the best baby. She always smiled and from the day we brought her home she was spoiled rotten. Sissy never put her down. From the time Shelby could walk she loved to play. She was big about being outside or playing in the water. She was 100% water baby. There were times when she'd pick up a worm or a bug and say sissy look and i'd take off running!! She was the one that Shelly ran to to kill a spider. She was pure tom boy but could be a cutie in a dress when she wanted to be. She was a big family girl and loved going to church. She was always singing didnt matter what it was she was a natural and could sing every word. Shelby loved animals. I, Sissy having 4 dogs and cats galore, Shelby never got bored. Shelby loved the river. She loved to ruff neck it and camp and go boating. Shelby loved to play in the river water and just float. And all i'd could say was yuk, no thanks.. Shelby loved spending time with her Nana. She was never wrong or never in trouble when it come to Nana's eyes.

Shelby just finished summer school after her fourth grade year at North Andrew. Shelby, her mom and Gunner had just moved to St. Joe and got settled in. She was goin to start a new school. Shelby was very open and forward, she didnt know a strangers face. She had a ton of friends old and young and everyone loved her smile.

Shelby always asked what heaven was like and what God looked like. August 15, 2008 @ 2:05pm with no seconds to spare, Shelby found out what heaven was like and what God looked like. Shelby became an angel for the people that loved her blue eyes and her wonderful smile..

She will be loved everyday, and missed forever......

Her legacy
JUST A MEMORY AWAY.....

I'm no longer by your side,

but there's no need to weep;

I've left sweet recollections

I'm hoping you will keep.

Eternal joy and memories

stay in our hearts forever,

Strengthening our special bond

that parting cannot sever.

Now it's time to journey on,

so let your faith be strong,

For I am in a better place...

I'm home where I belong.

And if times of loneliness

bring sorrow and dismay,

Don't despair, for I am there...

JUST A MEMORY AWAY...
